Research Use Only Policy

FOR RESEARCH USE ONLY. NOT FOR HUMAN OR VETERINARY USE. RUO products are intended solely for lawful laboratory research, analytical work, or educational research. They are not intended for ingestion, injection, administration, diagnosis, treatment, prevention, mitigation, cure, clinical use, veterinary use, cosmetic use, or personal use.

1. Intended use

Products identified as RUO are sold for laboratory, analytical, and research purposes only. Any scientific, technical, or reference information made available by Driftless Research is provided to identify or document the research material and does not expand the product's intended use.

2. Prohibited uses

in or on a human or animal;
for ingestion, injection, implantation, inhalation, topical administration, or any other form of personal administration;
for diagnosis, treatment, mitigation, cure, prevention, or monitoring of disease or a health condition;
for patient care, clinical trials involving administration, compounding for personal or clinical use, or veterinary care;
as food, a dietary supplement, drug, cosmetic, household product, or consumer wellness product; or
in any manner that is unlawful or inconsistent with the product label, product page, or these policies.

3. Purchaser acknowledgement

By purchasing an RUO product, the purchaser confirms that the material is being acquired solely for a lawful research purpose; that the purchaser is legally permitted and reasonably qualified to receive and handle the material; and that the purchaser will comply with applicable laws, safety practices, storage requirements, and disposal requirements.

4. No medical or veterinary advice

Driftless Research does not provide medical, veterinary, prescribing, dosing, compounding, diagnostic, or treatment advice. Website content, customer-service communications, product names, research references, and third-party documentation must not be interpreted as instructions or encouragement for human or veterinary use.

5. Product documentation

Certificates of analysis, analytical results, specifications, lot information, and similar documents are intended to support research identification and documentation. They do not establish approval, safety, efficacy, dosage, or suitability for human or veterinary use.

6. Right to refuse or cancel orders

We may refuse, limit, or cancel an order if communications, order patterns, requested instructions, or other information reasonably indicate an intended use that conflicts with this Policy, applicable law, or our payment-processing obligations.

7. Regulatory clarification

“Research Use Only” is a statement of intended use. It is not a waiver of law, a substitute for regulatory compliance, or a representation that a product is exempt from any legal requirement. Customers remain responsible for determining the laws and institutional requirements applicable to their research.
