Metabolic research terms

GLP-1: Glucagon-like peptide-1, an endogenous hormone and receptor target in metabolic research.

GIP: Glucose-dependent insulinotropic polypeptide, another incretin hormone and research target.

Triple agonist: A molecule designed to activate three identified receptor systems; for retatrutide, GIP, GLP-1 and glucagon receptors.

Amylin analogue: A molecule designed to mimic or modify amylin-pathway activity for research.

Documentation terms

COA: Certificate of analysis. Ideally tied to an identifiable material and lot.

Lot / batch: An identifier used to connect a specific unit or production group to records.

RUO: Research Use Only. A statement of intended use that does not itself create a legal exemption or make a material suitable for human or veterinary use.
